In 2022, I first met Penny after a church service. We were with a group of friends, enjoying some bingsoo, and I immediately noticed how kind and bright she was. Despite a year of not staying in touch, Penny surprised me by liking one of my Instagram stories. Thinking she might want to reconnect, I reached out with a message about her adorable puppy, Dubu.
Our random Instagram chats led to us meeting up again, and the more I got to know her, the more I realized I was falling for her. I didn’t want to rush things and risk pushing her away, but time seemed to slip away. Finally, at a BBQ party hosted by a mutual friend, I mustered up the courage to ask her out on a date, but she turned me down.
Months of longing and uncertainty followed, but fate gave us another chance to meet. This time, Penny started showing interest in me, and we began spending more time together. The connection between us was undeniable. One day, as we held hands a few days before she was set to return to Korea, I felt a spark that left me hopeful.
Penny is the most caring, beautiful, and delightful person, and I feel incredibly blessed to have her in my life. I promise to her family and friends that I will love and cherish her like the princess she truly is, for as long as I live.
I first met Yemo at a New Jersey church in the summer of 2022. After service, we went to have bingsoo with a group of friends. My first impression of him was that he seemed really nice and gentle & that we had some mutual friends! We didn't talk or see other for months until a friend's housewarming party during the winter, where I bought his mini bear bricks during an auction game.
Months flew by and during spring 2023, he messaged me on Instagram. It turns out, I had actually liked his story first—a small but significant detail I hadn't noticed at the time. I didn't think much of it, and we eventually hung out a few times as a group. I still didn't think much and thought of him as a good friend. He then suddenly asked me out and I said no because I was so confused and had no idea he liked me. It was a tiiiinnnnyyy bit awkward seeing him after that... lol
Then after a few months, I realized that I liked him too.....! & we ended up dating two days before I moved to Korea.....! I told my parents I was going to see my best friend, but actually went on a date with Yemo <3 & happy ever since! Yay <3 He's the sweetest, greatest person ever and I'm so thankful I met him. He never fails to make me feel like a true princess and his warm hugs are my favorite <3 No more long distance yay <3
